Nestled quietly behind the Red Canyon of Wyoming. Among the foothills of the Wind River Mountains, sits the rustic home studio of Fire Creek. Among the cotton tailed rabbits. The mule deer and wild birds of every color, lies unceasing inspiration for handcrafted artisan tile and pottery. As a potter and nature enthusiast, I’ve always been drawn to the beauty and wonder of the natural world.
I spend countless hours exploring the surrounding wilderness. Discovering hidden streams and marveling at the diverse wildlife that calls this land home. These experiences instill in me a deep respect for the land, the creatures and the delicate balance that sustains us all.
I quietly honed my craft as a potter over the years. I knew I wanted to create pieces not only reflected my love for nature but also brought joy. A happiness to those who held my work in their hands. I believe we should surround ourselves with beauty every day. It reminds us that the natural world can uplift our spirits. It calms our minds and inspires us to live in harmony with the land.
Each piece of pottery that leaves my studio is a testament to the beauty and resilience of the natural world. From the intricate carvings to the earthy color palette. Every detail is inspired by the landscapes and wildlife that I am passionate about protecting.
When you bring one of my pieces into your home, I hope it serves as a reminder of the importance of preserving our natural world. My wish is that it brings a smile to your face and joy to your heart.

Many “handmade” tile companies use C & C machines to craft designs and large tile presses to craft tile. Fire Creek tile and pottery is crafted old school style. I hand carve every design, hand press clay into molds and hand glaze every piece just for you.
Frequently Asked Questions
- When will I receive my order? Fire Creek tiles are created just for you at the time of purchase. Due to the lengthy tile process and Fire Creek is run by one artist, please anticipate at least 6 weeks for your tile to be ready to ship. Upon ordering, an email will be sent to you within 24 hours to give you a “no later than” date. Your tile will be shipped no later than that date. So, if you are planning to schedule a tile installation, please allow for enough time. Tile making can’t be rushed.
- Are Fire Creek tiles durable? Yes. Every tile is stoneware clay and fire to a high temperature for beauty and durability. Fire Creek tiles are suitable for kitchen backsplashes; fireplace surrounds and bathroom tile.
- Will the glaze withstand wear? Tile is very functional, but different glazes do fit better for different purposes. Fire Creek uses both gloss and matte glazes. They are suitable for both back splashes, bathrooms and fireplace surrounds but are not recommended for floor tiles. Fire Creek offers several glazes to compliment any decor.
- How do I know if I will like the color of the glaze? I want to make sure that you will be completely happy with your purchase. I recommend that you order one square foot of tile in the glaze of your choice prior to the purchase of a large order. This will allow you to see the variances of glaze in each tile. Though I do my best to represent the true color of each glaze we offer, it can be difficult to capture the subtleties of each glaze on camera. Also, be aware that depending on the design of the tile, the glaze can vary even from the sample tile due to the way the glaze breaks over the detail of the tile.
- Do you carry hand cut field tile? Because of my remote location, I no longer take large orders of field tiles. If you need hand cut field tile to border a tile mural or need a small amount of field tile (less than 25 sqft) please contact me.

I can give you a more accurate time frame before the purchase, expect anywhere up to 6 weeks. During the peak of Renovation season, turnaround time may be longer. - What do I do after I receive my order? I recommend using an installer that is familiar with working with handmade tiles, but you can install handmade tile yourself. I make each tile by hand. Tile will vary slightly in size, shape and color of the glaze. This makes handmade tile unique and beautiful. Using a larger grout line will help navigate the differences in handmade tile compared to commercial tile. Please layout and inspect each tile prior to installation. Broken tiles? Please send a photo of the broken tile and box. Fire Creek is happy to replace any tile broken by mishandling during shipping.
