Meadow Bloom Accent Tile
There is a quiet kind of magic in a summer meadow- the movement of grasses in the breeze, the color of wildflowers scattered across the landscape, and the gentle hum of bees moving from bloom to bloom. The Bumblebee Accent Tile is a part of the Meadow Bloom Collection, a series inspired by the wildflowers, pollinators, and fleeting moments found throughout the Mountainous high desert. The original design is carefully carved by hand in clay in my Wyoming studio. I strive to capture the delicate details of this small but essential pollinator. From that original carving, a plaster mold is created. This allows each tile to be carefully formed while preserving the character and texture of the handmade design. Every tile is carefully cleaned, hand painted and fired. Subtle variations in color, surface texture and detail make every piece unique. This 4-inch accent tile is designed to bring a small piece of the meadow into thoughtfully created spaces- whether incorporated into a kitchen backsplash, fireplace surround, bathroom design, garden room or displayed as a small work of ceramic art. A reminder to slow down, notice the tiny wonders around us, and make room for the beauty of the natural world.
